No Plan from Me

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
"You will never be in control of the circumstances in your life" (Jesus Calling).

This quote stuck out to me more than ever while reading today's devotional. I know that I am not in control of my life, nor my circumstances, but to put it so straight forward it really eye-opening.

I have talked many times about the control I like to have over my situations and life happenings. I try to plan everything (and that's not an exaggeration). If I can plan it I will find a way to do so. Hearing that I have no control over anything is quite disturbing but in a way relieving. The only reason why I plan is to make sure things go smoothly and I don't have to face unwanted problems. However, if the plan is already set, ad I feel comfortable with the planner, I feel just as good.

So, when hearing that God is in control and He has everything planned and worked out, I am at ease. I know that God has a crazy, awesome life in store for me - now all I need to do is sit back and enjoy the ride!
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise - in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? Psalm 56:3-4
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19
