Lend Some Encouragement

"Encouragement is oxygen to the soul." George M. Adams

Encouragement is something we all need and is also something that we call can give to someone else.

Here are some helpful tips on giving encouragement:

  • Be specific
  • Be honest and kind - no flattery allowed.
  • Be positive and confident. If there is a doubt to express, handle it with care and an alternative.
  • Be spontaneous with your encouragement. It doesn't always have to be planned out.
  • Don't worry how it is received. Many people don't know how to handle praise.
  • Be consistent.
  • Offer suggestions, not advice.
  • Be your own best encourager!
