"Obedience sets your heart free."
Why is it that obedience is so hard to do? Is it because we have a longing for "freedom" and don't like following orders from others? Maybe we're just selfish, stubborn beings that would rather do things on our own?
Working with children, more often than not, they deliberately disobey. I'm not quite sure if this is all personality or if deep down inside all of us we have an instinct to go against orders.
In the Bible, there are so many occurrences where the people of God disobeyed Him. This should upset me, but in a way it reassures me. That even if God's people disobeyed Him and He still loved them, than I think we're okay here. I'm not saying that this should be an excuse, but we're going to mess up, disobey, ignore God, so it's good to know that He will forgive us.
There will be many times in our lives when obeying God will be the hardest thing we have to do. Just remember, when you get to the other side of the situation, His blessings will be sure to rain down on you!
"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose."
