For no word from God will ever fail. Luke 1:37God's power is made perfect in weakness. In other words, when we are weak He is strong.
We all know these promises from God. One of the first songs we learn is "Jesus Loves Me" and right there in the middle it says "they are weak and He is strong". We should know by now that we are weak...humans are weak. There is nothing new about this concept.
So why does this verse catch us so off guard? Some people read it as "I have to become weak in order for God to shine". This is a terrible way of reading it. As Christians, we should realize that we are weak and that we cannot do anything without God by our side! Think of it this way...God cannot do His work in our lives when our pride is getting in the way over and over again. We have to admit failure and weakness in order for God to come in and take charge. His power is made perfect in our weakness!
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
