The devil is someone who enjoys torturing God's people. He actually finds joy in this. Without God in our lives we will not be able to resist the devil, his temptations, or his torture. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. Revelation 12:10
This is why we need to keep our faith strong and come near to God. We must practice listening for God's voice so that we know when it is He calling us. We must learn to recognize His being and presence.
How do we do this? We spend time with Him! Quiet time with God is a must! If you aren't sharing these moments with God now is the time to start! Do what you can. If you have 5 minutes, make those 5 minutes count! If you can give Him 30, make sure you are devoting that time to only Him.
These moments will strengthen you for the spiritual battle that is ongoing. It will prepare you for the unknown and will strengthen your faith in God.
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Ephesians 6:16
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 4:7-8
