Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name, worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness. Psalm 29:2My grandmother's favorite song was "The Garden". It's a beautiful hymn that I love to sing after my morning worship. I don't know all the words but the verses I do know are such a great comfort to me. I not only have great memories of my grandma and the wonderful woman she was, but also her faith in Jesus and her steadiness, constancy, and strength she portrayed.
The lyrics of the beautiful song are:
The Garden
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.
He speaks, and the sound of His voice,
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.
I’d stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
This song is such an incredible way to praise God. It really puts His love into perspective for me and shows me the relationship I long to have with Him.
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy. 1 Peter 1:8
