Making Hard Choices

This blog post is based off of Genesis 24:1-67 from the "New Women's Devotional Bible".

The story of Isaac and Rebekah's arranged marriage is a very famous one in the Old Testament. God was truly involved in this love story; from the very beginning with Abraham's request, to the very end when Isaac marries Rebekah. It was surely fashioned by God.

Throughout their story, choices were being made constantly. We may read the story and think that the choices weren't so difficult to make, but others see these choices as being one of the most important and hardest decisions.

Every day we are confronted with choices. They can be as simple as the outfit we will wear or as big and life changing as who we will spend our life with. Some of us may be dealing with a hard choice right now. Sometimes the choice itself isn't so difficult, but the factors surrounding the choice make it very hard. Choices aren't always black and white. Sometimes it takes lots of thinking about, praying about, and weighing out the pros and cons to make the right decision.

When life puts a hard decision in front of you, trust in God. Know that He has your best interest at heart and through prayer and meditation, He will point you in the right direction.

"First trust God to have your best interest at heart, and then trust him to lead you to the right choice."
