Not Guilty

This blog post is based off of Leviticus 5:14-19 from the "New Women's Devotional Bible".

Before Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice dealing with sin was a lot different. The Israelites did a lot of sacrificing and atonement. They were to sacrifice an offering every time they sinned - intentionally or not. I can imagine how stressful that would be...

I am sure that I have committed several unintentional sins in the past few days. Being human, and living is this world, we are all bound to sin every day. I know that we aren't expected by God to be perfect - He knows we can't be. But we should continue to be aware of our lives and our wrongdoings.

I think the most important thing to realize is that with Jesus Christ in our lives we have been claimed "Not Guilty". This is exciting news! Especially since we all know how guilty we are! Even though we have been declared "not guilty" we should always remember to make sacrifices towards God. After all, He is the reason why we can feel forgiven. We should also still repent, because through repentance we realize that we aren't perfect and we only will appear to be behind Jesus. We then should always praise God. We should continually show Him how grateful we are for His gift to us!

"God's grace is not an excuse to sin, but rather a reason to love and serve Him more fully." Unknown
