Meddling

This blog post is based off of Genesis 27:1-40 from the "New Women's Devotional Bible".

God had promised Rebekah that her older son would serve the younger. She knew all her children's life how they would end up - Esau serving Jacob. But when it came down to blessing time, she just couldn't wait for God to intervene; she had to step in, meddle, and create her own ending.

Meddling is something that many of us are familiar with. We have either meddled in other people's business, meddled in our family's circle, or meddled with God's plans for our lives. The problem with stepping in God's way is that we don't actually get to see God's hand in our life. We don't get to experience His beautiful plan. Instead, we become impatient and decide that our way is better (because it's faster) and we decide to create our own way.

There have been many times where I've seen God's hand in people's lives. My own life has been touched by God in many ways and I have been able to witness his glory and mercy. When God's way works out and the end is complete, everything is beautiful and worth waiting for.

I know that I am waiting on God right now for something. I'm sure there are plenty of you who are waiting on God right now as well. Let us meditate on God instead of meddling with His plans. Let us wait in prayer and get the chance to experience His perfect plan.

"Instead of wasting your energy meddling, try pouring your energy into meditating. Meditate on God's goodness, his faithfulness, his character traits and his promises."
