Don't pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults— unless, of course, you want the same treatment. Don't condemn those who are down; that hardness can boomerang. Be easy on people; you'll find life a lot easier. Luke 6:37
This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. John 3:16-17We are our own worst critics. We tend to pick on ourselves the most and try to fix the things that we see wrong. The problem is we are finding these "wrongs" by comparing ourselves to others. This is a problem. God did not intend for our lives to be compared to one another. He intended for each and every one of us to have a unique and special life. When we compare ourselves to others we are not following God's plan for us.
Now, I'm not saying that we should never critique ourselves and never try changing for the better. I'm talking about the things that change our being and character. This is what God intended to be unique and it is not our task to try and change or fix ourselves.
There are also those other lovely people in the world that find it their task to critique others. They think that they have the authority to fix and change what they don't see fit and that is not following God's purpose either. The only one who has the ability and right to change is God. He sees the purpose of everything and it is in Him that we will find our perfection.
I will sing for joy in God, explode in praise from deep in my soul! He dressed me up in a suit of salvation, he outfitted me in a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom who puts on a tuxedo and a bride a jeweled tiara. Isaiah 61:10
But don't, dear friend, resent God's discipline; don't sulk under his loving correction. It's the child he loves that God corrects; a father's delight is behind all this. Proverbs 3:11-12
