Prayers for an Answer

Nothing, you see, is impossible with God. Luke 1:37
God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. Ephesians 3:20-21
Okay...so today was another devotion that I really needed to hear!  God knew my heart, and what it was feeling, and spoke to me this morning through my reading. I wish I could just retype up the whole page and show you all what it said. It was so necessary and relevant for me right now. Here are a few of the lines that I hit me today:

  • "Pry your mind away from your problems so you can focus your attention on me."
  • "Instead of trying to direct Me to do this and that, seek to attune yourself to what I am already doing."
  • "Rather than trying to maintain control over your life, abandon yourself to My will."

I am praying hard right now for an answer to prayer. It's one of those prayers where I'm asking God for direction and an answer. It's one that I can't wait awhile for. I'm not sure if deep down I already know the answer or if I'm trying too hard to control again. Bottom line - I need prayers!

As you can see, the above captions from my devotions were really applicable. What I need now is to practice the above and really let God lead my decision. It's scary and I'm not sure how to fully do this. What I do know is that I need to abandon myself to God and let Him show me the way and what the best decision is for my life.
God, my shepherd! I don't need a thing. You have bedded me down in lush meadows, you find me quiet pools to drink from. True to your word, you let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction. Even when the way goes through Death Valley, I'm not afraid when you walk at my side. Your trusty shepherd's crook makes me feel secure. Psalms 23:1-4
