Off the Beaten Path-He Won't Let Go

This is the very day God acted—let's celebrate and be festive! Psalm 118:24
Once we completely understand that God has gone before us and know he map to our days, we can now follow Him whole-hearted into the great unknown!

Think of like as an adventure and know that God is always with us holding out hand and guiding us through it all.

Let me ask you something. Let's say you are on a hike with a trained professional rock climber, hiker, mountain dude (whatever mountainy thing there is...he's a pro at it).  Every turn you take you don't even question because you know he knows what he's doing, right? Being on the trail is easy and he is taking the time to tell you about all the plants and berries and such. Life, and the hike, seem nice and easy and everything is beautiful.

He decides to take you off the path to show you some other things and you go! I know that I sure wouldn't question him - he's the professional!  Off the beaten path is still beautiful and you are learning things that you never knew before. He's an expert and he knows everything about all that there is and you are so thankful that he is guiding you!

So that seems pretty nice, right? We wouldn't question a professional hiker if he decides to take us off what we thought was the path...it's just his path and he knows it like the back of his hand. Just like God knows our lives and our journeys.

Well, let's make it a little tougher. Let's say this professional hiker decides to take us through some treacherous canyons and cliffs. Now its getting a little scary! He decides that the other ways won't allow us to see the beauty he really wants to show us. We'd never see it from the trail. He decides that, although none of us are trained, we can all go through this with his help. Would you turn around? Would you say you wanted to turn back and try to find the trail on your own?

As much as I would like to find the train on my own, I know I never would. I know that I'd be lost and the same professional that was trying to help me through some tough and treacherous paths would probably be the one to come and find me. He does know this place like the back of his hand. I'm sure the majority of us would decide to stay with this professional and let him guide us through the tough and scary places. Besides, it is better to have him holding our hand through the tough times!

I think you get the point. God will never leave you. He may take you through unexpected things, sometimes scary situations, but He is always there guiding you! He won't let go!
This is the kind of life you've been invited into, the kind of life Christ lived. He suffered everything that came his way so you would know that it could be done, and also know how to do it, step-by-step. 1 Peter 2:21
