Waiting on God

So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? Romans 8:31

God is a safe place to hide, ready to help when we need him. We stand fearless at the cliff-edge of doom, courageous in seastorm and earthquake, Before the rush and roar of oceans, the tremors that shift mountains. Jacob-wrestling God fights for us, God-of-Angel-Armies protects us. Psalm 46:1-3 

Most of us understand that God is with us and leading us. We have heard all about asking God to meet our needs, "ask and it shall be given", and we've been told that God will, "never leave us, nor forsake us". This is no new information and most of us really understand this concept.

The thing we don't seem to get is that God's timing is perfect timing. I have struggled with this many times and am still learning this idea.

A lot of times we as for things and seek God in prayer about worries, wants and needs. We then wait upon the Lord for the answers to come when we need them to come. The problem is that we can't call the shots about "when" they need to come. God's timing is perfect and we, especially me, need to understand this and realize that when we "wait upon the Lord" we are to be waiting patiently and faithfully.
